I love scrapping with templates. I don't do it all the time, but I think it's a fun change. It's really amazing all the different pages that can come from the same template! Here are a few of my favorite places to get templates (all free!):
Just Two More Things has great 2-page layouts. I think 2 page templates are really hard to find, not to mention that Jueneta is my friend, which both make this a great place to peruse. Here's a layout (with Kay Miller's Tiki Tiki Tembo kit) I did with one of her templates (surprisingly a 1-pager) :)
Sweet Shoppe has a "Cookie Decorating 101" Challenge on their forum. You can check it out here. You don't have to participate in the challenges, or post your layout, but I always think the templates are super cute. Here's my layout (with Zoe Pearn's Happiness kit) with the most recent one:
Jen Caputo sells her templates at Scrapbook Graphics, but she also has lots for free on her blog. I've used a few of her free templates, but most of my layouts are pretty old, so I'm sure you don't want to see them. ;)
Peppermint Creative now has a forum, which also includes a template challenge. There's a really cute template there right now, which you can get here. If you post your layout there, you can possibly win a PC gift card or some other prizes. Here's my page (from PC's Sk8ter Boy Kit) from this template, which I thought was really fun to work with. Miss Mint also put this page on her blog (along with Ashlie's), which I was excited about!
Templates are really easy to work with. You open it up, then target the layer you want to 'paste' your paper to. Bring your paper onto your template layout, and it should come in right above your targeted layer. Then you can hit Ctrl G (or alt-and hover your mouse between the two layers and click) to "clip" your paper to it. You do that with all your papers and embellishments, then add whatever you want to it! Have fun!
